It is increasingly recognised that to enable health care to be at its best there needs to be collaboration between professionals and patients. To that end a number of Patient Participation Groups have been set up throughout the country. In January 2009 the practice began to set up a group for Cobbs Garden Surgery, in the first instance by invitation to selected patients.
This group meet regularly to discuss practical ways of helping the practice develop and can act as a liaison between staff and patients. The group is not a channel for complaints or as a way for someone to push their own agenda through. The group could be used as a pressure group to lobby outside agencies on behalf of the patients and staff at the practice.
If you would like more information or you would like to put forward an idea or suggestion, please contact (in writing) the PPG secretary via Cobbs Garden Surgery.
