We run all our surgeries by an appointment only system. Appointments can be booked by telephoning the surgery. We have 2 types of appointment: If you feel you need to see a doctor on the same day you will be offered an appointment with the duty doctor (who may not be your usual doctor). If you wish to make a more planned appointment with your usual doctor, you will be offered one as soon as one is available.
Many problems can be simply solved by speaking to the doctor on the phone. Please telephone before 12 noon. Your phone number will be taken, including a mobile, and the doctor will aim to ring you within a reasonable time.
If you are too ill to come to the surgery and you require a visit at home, please call the surgery before 10am. Home visits take up much more of a doctor’s time than a consultation in the surgery, so if you are mobile please come into the surgery to be seen.
We advise you to see your usual doctors on most occasions. this generally leads to a better quality of care and a more satisfying service for you.
Saturday morning and Monday evening sessions.
The surgery is open for 2 ¼ hours on a Saturday morning, 9 – 11.15am and for 2 hours on a Monday evening 6.30 – 8.30pm . These sessions will offer routine appointments available to patients to book in advance. The phone lines will not be open and any problem needing on the day attention should still be referred to MKDOC, the out of hours service, and not the practice.
